Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) to join our retail pharmacy team. The ideal candidate is a reliable team player with strong community pharmacy experience, excellent attention to detail, and a passion for providing outstanding patient care.
The Registered Pharmacy Technician will work closely with pharmacists and the pharmacy team to ensure accurate prescription processing, efficient workflow, and excellent service for our patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately process prescription orders, including data entry, billing, third-party adjudication, and documentation.
- Prepare, assemble, and check blister packs (compliance packaging) accurately and efficiently.
- Assist pharmacists with prescription preparation, inventory management, and daily pharmacy operations.
- Coordinate and complete medication deliveries, ensuring patients receive their medications safely and on time.
- Communicate professionally with patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers.
- Answer and manage phone calls from doctors’ offices, including prescription clarifications, refill requests, and medication-related inquiries.
- Maintain accurate patient profiles, records, and documentation in accordance with pharmacy regulations.
- Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and monitoring medication expiry dates.
- Support medication synchronization and adherence programs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient pharmacy environment.
- Follow all College of Pharmacists of BC standards, pharmacy policies, and quality assurance procedures.
Qualifications & Skills
- Licensed Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) in British Columbia.
- Previous experience in a community/retail pharmacy setting preferred.
- Experience with Kroll Pharmacy Software is an asset.
- Strong experience with blister packaging and medication preparation.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills with patients, physicians, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and professionalism.
- Robust organizational skills and ability to prioritize daily tasks.
