ABOUT RAISE THE STARS

Raise The Stars is a Canadian AI-Proof learning platform that connects expert professionals with students in Grades 5-12 for in-person, project-based sessions in students' homes. Tutors work in their own neighbourhoods, on their own schedules, in their own field of expertise.

WHY WE BUILT THIS

The students in Grades 5-12 today are heading into a market where much of the entry-level version of skilled work is being automated.

What holds its value is judgment, hands-on problem solving, and knowing when a confident answer is wrong. Very little of that is taught well, because teaching it requires someone who has actually done the work. Meanwhile there's a excellent deal of hard-won expertise in this country that no one is currently asking to use. Two shortages that happen to answer each other - that is what Raise The Stars has been built around.

WHAT WE'VE BUILT, AND WHAT YOU BRING

We design the AI-Proof curriculum in house. Eight project-based tracks, mapped to the fields where human-AI partnership is likely to matter most, structured session by session and pitched above grade level by default. Our Learning Velocity system tracks where each student actually is, so you are always working at the edge of what they can do.





This is why we go beyond simply requiring teaching credentials or classroom experience. The pedagogy is our job.

What we do require is genuine depth in your field - enough that you could take an unexpected question from a sharp 15-year-old and answer it properly, without looking it up. That is the part we cannot build, and it is the whole reason a student is sitting at the table with you rather than watching a video.

Depth, not years: A third-year aerospace engineering student who has built drones has it. A generalist with a long CV may not.

HOW SESSIONS WORK

You travel within your own neighbourhood to run sessions in students' homes. One-to-one, or small groups of two to five when students bring friends. An hour, building something real (ex. a drone, a circuit, a working model of how venture capital moves).
No lesson planning. No worksheets. No video calls. A parent is nearby throughout and can watch as much of the session as they like.
Afterwards you submit short notes through our platform so we can keep matching well.

WHAT YOU GET

- $42-85 per hour depending on format. Choose between 1-1, semi-private, and group sessions (2-5 max).
- You set your availability, your travel radius, and which tracks you teach.
- Work near where you live. If you are a post-secondary student, keep tutoring wherever you are in September - we operate across Canada.
- Curriculum, matching and scheduling handled for you.

BEFORE YOUR FIRST SESSION

A valid Police Clearance Certificate is required, since sessions take place in students' homes. Most provinces let you obtain this online; we send instructions on verification.
