Job Summary

The Day Cleaner is responsible for the overall cleaning maintenance of the office and will perform various cleaning and sanitization duties. The main objective of the Day Cleaner is to ensure the office is kept in a clean, sanitary and in an orderly condition. The Day Cleaner reports to the Human Resources Manager.

Responsibilities

- Daily sanitization of high touch surface areas on the designated floors/rooms including but not limited to: Door handles, doorknobs, staircase bannisters, Biometric readers and elevator buttons, Washroom sinks, faucets, and doorknobs, Tables, faucets, microwave handles and fridge handles located in the cafeteria, kitchenettes, and breakroom/boardrooms
- Monitor the opening and closing of common spaces (for example: the cafeteria)
- Clean and sanitize cafeteria during designated periods throughout the day
- Clean offices, common areas, washrooms, and any other areas
- Perform general sweeping, scrubbing, and mopping of floors
- Polish furniture and room accessories
- Scrub sinks, basins, and toilets
- Clean windows coverings, glass surfaces/doors, and mirrors
- Replenish supplies, such as toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, and hand sanitizer as required
- Dispose of trash from bins and containers in the applicable containers




- Use vacuuming equipment to vacuum and clean carpets
- Perform further treatments such as shampoo or stain-removal as per outlined schedule
- Report repairs and replacements needed when encountered on the job
- Ensure the proper and secure use of chemicals per manufacturer and company standards
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience; or knowledge, skills equivalent to 1 year
- Ability to follow verbal directions
- Ability to work well alone, with a partner or with a team
- Reliable and punctual with dedicated professionalism to the job and duties
- Able to adapt to changing schedules or routines, excellent time management skills
- Pays attention to detail when cleaning
- Organized and able to follow a schedule
- Physically able to reach, stretch, bend, and walk during the daily routine, with ability to stand for long periods of time; physically able to push a vacuum cleaner for extended periods of time; ability to lift up to 25 to 30 pounds
- General knowledge of cleaning products, supplies, and techniques for cleaning

Pay: $17.60-$30.12 per hour
