Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Intermediate Finance Clerk with strong communication skills to join our head office in Dunnville. The successful candidate will process routine accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, perform account reconciliations and financial data entry, and provide general support to the Finance Department.
The ideal candidate will have at least three years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably using QuickBooks, along with strong Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience in a pharmacy, healthcare, or multi-location retail setting is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
· Process routine accounts payable transactions, including reviewing invoices, obtaining approvals, entering invoices, and preparing payments.
· Process accounts receivable transactions, including issuing invoices, posting customer payments, and following up on outstanding balances.
· Maintain accurate vendor, customer, and financial records.
· Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, vendor statements, customer accounts, and general ledger accounts.
· Collect, review, reconcile,
and post sales transactions from operational systems for daily and month-end accounting purposes.
· Assist with payroll and benefits reconciliations and resolve discrepancies as required.
· Prepare and process government remittances, including payroll deductions, HST, and other applicable payments.
· Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
· Prepare routine financial reports and supporting schedules.
· Update and maintain cash-flow forecasts.
· Assist with budgeting and forecasting by gathering financial data and preparing reports.
· Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation.
· Identify discrepancies, investigate issues, and complete corrections promptly.
· Help improve accounting processes, controls, policies, and procedures.
· Ensure financial activities comply with company policies, accounting standards, and applicable legislation.
· Work collaboratively with pharmacy operations, management, and other departments.
Qualifications
· Diploma or degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
· Minimum of three years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a finance-related role.
· Practical experience processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
· Proficiency with accounting software, preferably QuickBooks.
· Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, filters, sorting, lookups,
pivot tables, and spreadsheet reconciliations.
· Previous experience in a pharmacy, healthcare, or retail environment is preferred.
· Knowledge of payroll, HST, government remittances, and month-end procedures is preferred.
· Familiarity with Ontario employment standards, accounting best practices, and applicable regulations is preferred.
