Giverr Electric

Canada

Giverr Electric is a licensed Ontario electrical contractor (ECRA/ESA 7012462) working across the GTA. We run commercial and institutional projects — office floor build-outs, bank branches, mechanical and equipment tie-ins — alongside residential and service work. We are a small crew, which is the whole point: there is nowhere to hide, the work is varied, and the person who signs your cheque knows exactly what you did this week.

We are hiring a licensed Journeyman Electrician who can be handed a scope and left to run it.

What the job actually is

Take a scope and finish it without supervision. You get the drawings, the material and the deadline, and you run the work. Nobody is going to stand over you.

Run installations end to end: distribution, panels, feeders, conduit, cable tray, devices and equipment connections.

Work from drawings. Read blueprints, single-line diagrams and shop drawings, and flag conflicts before they cost the job.

Troubleshoot existing systems and get them back online safely.

Meet the Ontario Electrical Safety Code and pass ESA inspection the first time.

Run an apprentice. Teach them, check their work, and be honest with us about how they are doing. This is part of the job, not a favour.

Be the point of contact for the GC or client when the owner is not on site.

Keep the paperwork straight — daily job reports, material lists, change-order notes — so the work gets billed for what it actually took.

What we expect

A valid Ontario 309A Certificate of Qualification in good standing.

Real experience to back the ticket. We will ask you to walk us through specific jobs you ran, what went wrong, and what you did about it.

The ability to work a full day at pace without being pushed.

Working at Heights certification, or willingness to get it (we pay).

A valid driver's licence and clean abstract — you will be in a company vehicle.

Straight communication. If something is behind or wrong, we want the call that day, not the surprise at the end.

Nice to have

ICI or general-contractor project experience and familiarity with how a GC site runs.

Fire alarm, controls, BAS or mechanical wiring experience.

Forklift, boom lift or scissor lift tickets.

This job is probably not for you if

You have the ticket but have mostly worked as a second set of hands and have not run your own scope.

You would rather be told what to do all day than decide what happens next.

Mentoring an apprentice sounds like someone else's job.

What we offer

Starting at $40/hour, with room above that for the right person — bring your case.

Full time, year-round work. We are not seasonal.

Company vehicle, tools and phone allowance.

Health and dental benefits.

Safety training and certifications paid for.

A direct line to the owners. Decisions get made the same week, not the next quarter.

Location

GTA and surrounding area. Most work is in Toronto, Etobicoke, Scarborough and the 401 corridor. Head office is in Belwood, Ontario.

To apply

Apply here with your resume, and answer these three in your message:

1. Describe the last job you ran on your own, start to finish. What was the scope and how long did it take?

2. How many apprentices have you supervised, and what did you have them doing?

3. What is your 309A number and when did you get it?

Applications without answers to those three will not be reviewed.

Giverr Electric Inc. is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applications from all qualified candidates and will accommodate applicants with disabilities throughout the hiring process on request.

Pay: $40.00-$45.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
