Room Service Server
You are someone who enjoys creating exceptional guest experiences through attentive, personalized service. You take pride in delivering every order with accuracy, professionalism, and care while ensuring guests feel valued throughout their stay. In this fast-paced environment, you play an important role in providing prompt, seamless in-room dining service and maintaining the highest standards of hospitality. In the role of Room Service Server, you will:
- Be Exacting – Arrive on time to prepare your work area, organize trays and service items, and ensure every order is complete, accurate, and presented to the highest standard. Maintain a clean and organized room service area throughout your shift.
- Be a Food & Beverage Professional – Take, prepare, deliver, and present food and beverage orders promptly while providing friendly, knowledgeable service. Answer guest questions, offer menu recommendations, present checks, process payments, and retrieve trays efficiently to create an exceptional in-room dining experience.
- Support the Team – Complete side work, restock supplies, perform tray sweeps, communicate effectively with the kitchen and fellow team members, and stay informed of hotel events, promotions, and VIP arrivals to better serve guests.
- Focus on Details – Ensure trays are properly set with all required food, beverages, condiments, and service items, verify every order for accuracy before delivery, and maintain cleanliness and presentation standards in all service areas.
- Be Organized – Complete daily reports, cash-outs,
and end-of-shift responsibilities accurately while following departmental procedures and maintaining an efficient workflow.
- Be a Safety & Security Agent – Follow all food safety, sanitation, liquor service, safety, and security procedures while reporting concerns or maintenance issues as needed.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of food and beverage serving experience required
- Serve Right certification required
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Strong communication and guest service skills
- Ability to work in a rapid-paced, high-pressure environment
- Ability to work independently while supporting a team environment
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
Job Duties
In addition to the responsibilities above, essential duties include:
- Deliver room service orders promptly and accurately
- Prepare and inspect trays to ensure orders are complete
- Retrieve room service trays throughout the shift
- Complete opening, side work, and closing duties
- Restock supplies and maintain a clean room service area
- Process guest payments and complete daily cash-outs
- Complete daily reports and end-of-shift responsibilities
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and liquor service standards
- Stay informed of hotel promotions, events, and VIP guests
- Communicate effectively with the kitchen, front desk, and management
- Report maintenance or safety concerns to management
