Location:

This full-time position is based at Downey Home Hardware at 1106 Cleveland Avenue, Riverview, New Brunswick.

Job Description:

Elmwood Group is seeking a dependable and organized Windows & Doors Warehouse Associate to manage the receiving, storage, inventory control, and staging of windows, exterior doors, and other building materials. This position plays a critical role in ensuring products are received accurately, stored safely, and prepared for delivery on time and without damage.

The successful candidate will work closely with the sales, purchasing, and delivery teams to maintain inventory accuracy and support efficient customer deliveries.

Responsibilities:

Receiving & Inventory Control

- Receive incoming shipments of windows, exterior doors, and building materials.
- Verify quantities and inspect products for damage upon arrival.
- Report freight damage, shortages, or discrepancies immediately.
- Accurately record received inventory in company systems.
- Maintain organized storage locations and product identification.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and assist with cycle counts.

Yard & Warehouse Operations

- Safely unload supplier trucks using forklifts and material-handling equipment.
- Store products in designated warehouse and yard locations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized yard and warehouse.
- Ensure products are protected from damage during storage and handling.
- Assist with housekeeping, snow clearing coordination, and general yard upkeep as required.

Delivery Preparation & Shipping

- Pick and stage customer orders accurately and on schedule.
- Load company delivery trucks safely and efficiently.




- Verify orders against packing slips before shipment.
- Ensure products are properly secured for transport.
- Assist drivers with loading and unloading as required.

Safety & Equipment

- Operate forklifts and warehouse equipment safely.
- Perform daily equipment inspections.
- Follow all company health and safety policies.
- Participate in safety meetings and training initiatives.
- Report unsafe conditions, accidents, or near misses immediately

Skills and Qualifications:

· Required

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Previous warehouse, yard, shipping/receiving, or material-handling experience.

· Ability to lift and move products weighing up to 50 lbs regularly.

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

· Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Preferred

· Forklift certification or experience operating forklifts.

· Experience handling windows, doors, or building materials.

· Inventory management experience.

· Familiarity with ERP systems such as Epicor Compass.

· Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset.

· Ability to lift materials weighing up to 100 pounds.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:





· Must be able to move merchandise weighing up to a hundred pounds from the receiving area to the warehouse and place it on shelves.

· Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Working relationships

o Reports directly to Operation Manager.

Education:

- Secondary School (required)

Experience:

- Building material handler: 2 years (preferred)

Language:
