Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Plumber or Pipefitter to join our construction and maintenance team. This role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems across commercial and industrial sites. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with construction projects, and the ability to interpret schematics and blueprints. This position focuses on the Naniamo area between Courtenay and Victoria but not limited to other parts of Vancouver Island. The projects include water treatment facilities, pump stations, booster stations, boiler systems and more.

Responsibilities

- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing and piping systems, including pumps, boilers and infrastructure equipment in commercial and industrial settings
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate installation and repairs
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other construction tools safely and effectively
- Perform heavy lifting of materials and equipment as needed for installation or repair projects
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within specifications




- Maintain a clean work environment and adhere to safety protocols at all times
- Assist with assembly of piping systems using schematics and technical instructions
- Operate construction vehicles or equipment if required for project logistics

Skills

- Mechanical knowledge related to plumbing, HVAC systems, or general construction
- Pipefitting skills like rigging, fit up and mounting heavy equipment
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations during installation or repairs
- Knowledge of carpentry skills beneficial for framing or structural adjustments
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced settings
- Troubleshooting and problem solving of systems

Pay: $45.36-$49.00 per hour
