EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

Position: Human Resources & Finance Officer

Classification: Qualified/Specialist

The Human Resources & Finance Officer is responsible for the effective delivery of finance, payroll, accounting, and human resource functions for the First Nations Health Ombudsperson Office. The position ensures financial integrity, regulatory compliance, accurate reporting, and the implementation of human resource practices that support organizational goals and employee wellbeing.

Responsibilities:

Finance

- Manage payroll and deductions (EI, insurance, pension)
- Issue manual cheques and perform calculations
- Reconcile CRA remittances with payroll register
- Code/enter invoices (accounts, travel, meetings) in SAGE 300
- Prepare cheques for signature
- Reconcile Accounts Payable and prepare journal entries
- Maintain funding agreement/contract files
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports for leadership
- Support budget planning and bank reconciliations

Human Resources

- Develop HR strategies aligned with organizational goals
- Support staffing, employment processing, records,



succession planning, retention
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching, counseling
- Prepare and proofread contracts
- Coordinate review/amendment of HR legislation, policies, and regulations

Other

· Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

- Degree or Certificate in Business Administration, Human Resources, Finance, Accounting or a related field.
- Certified Aboriginal Financial Manager (CAFM) Designation

Education

- Degree or Certificate in Business Administration, Human Resources, Finance, Accounting or a related field.
- Certified Aboriginal Financial Manager (CAFM) Designation

Experience

- 5 years in HR and Finance
- Proficient in Sage 300, MS Office, Zoom, Teams, Indeed, SaskJobs
- Knowledge of electronic payroll systems
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Understanding of First Nations customs, culture, and history
- Equivalent education/experience considered

Salary: Based on grid and commensurate with experience.
