Founded in 2019, Rx Connect Specialty Pharmacy is a proud Canadian company, comprised of healthcare professionals with extensive specialty medication experience with a location in Mississauga, Ontario and another in Calgary, Alberta. We are a distinctive healthcare company, with patient relationship skills that set us apart. We mainly deal with patients who require biologics/specialty medications used in the treatment of chronic medical conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, urticaria, ulcerative colitis, and many others.
You will have the opportunity to work with our in-house specialty team and support the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy. We are looking for a candidate who is reliable and organized, with excellent communication skills and capable of providing exceptional customer service. The candidate is expected to be proficient with Kroll Pharmacy Management Software and experienced in troubleshooting adjudication issues with public and private payers.
Duties and Responsibilities'
- Receive prescription orders from patients, healthcare providers, and clinics
- Enter prescription information accurately into the pharmacy management system Verify prescription details, patient information, and insurance coverage to ensure completeness and accuracy
- Clarify any unclear or incomplete prescription information with healthcare providers or patients as needed.
- Communicate with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, or other staff members regarding prescription orders Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of prescription orders and patient information
- Maintain workflow through effective task prioritization and teamwork.
- The inventory pharmacy assistant will also be assigned other duties and tasks as required from time to time.
Job Requirements
- Post-secondary education or equivalent
- Two or more years of related pharmacy experience is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Two or more years of experience with Kroll
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical technology and basic understanding or prescription medications.
- Previous experience in cold-chain distribution is an asset
