We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations and maintain the general ledger.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Perform manufacturing cost accounting, inventory valuation, and product costing.
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, and cash flow reports.
- Ensure compliance with Canadian accounting standards and applicable tax regulations.
- Prepare and file GST/HST and other required tax returns.
- Perform account reconciliations and oversee month-end and year-end closing.
- Monitor inventory transactions and manufacturing variances.
- Support external audits and work with auditors, financial institutions, and government agencies.
- Maintain and improve accounting processes and internal controls.
- Generate financial reports and provide management with timely financial analysis.
- Utilize ERP systems to manage financial and inventory data efficiently.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience.
- Proven accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the cosmetic, food supplement, pharmaceutical, food, or consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Financial Accounting
- Manufacturing Cost Accounting
- Inventory Accounting
- Financial Reporting
- Good knowledge of Canadian tax regulations, including GST/HST and compliance requirements.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems.
- Robust analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA designation (or working toward CPA) is considered a strong asset.
- Experience with inventory management and manufacturing costing is highly desirable.
