Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (30-minute unpaid lunch). Occasional overtime on Saturdays and Sundays may be required.

We are currently seeking a skilled Die Assembler for our client in North York. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in tooling, machining, and blueprint reading who takes pride in producing high-quality precision components.

Responsibilities:

Die Assembly & Fabrication

- Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings to assemble dies accurately.
- Prepare raw materials by cutting die plates using cut-off saws or band saws.
- Grind raw steel using a surface grinder.
- Select the appropriate drills and taps for die assembly.
- Drill holes using drill presses and perform chamfering with milling machines.
- Taper die noses and square die plates using milling equipment and hand sanders.
- File, mill, profile, assemble, and polish dies to required specifications.
- Drill holes using large drill presses and stamp identification numbers, dates, and head numbers on completed tooling.

Quality Control

- Inspect completed work using calipers and precision measuring tools.
- Verify finished components meet blueprint specifications and quality standards.

Tooling Maintenance

- Repair, modify, and maintain existing tooling as required.
- Identify different grades and types of metals used in production.





Inventory Management

- Catalogue completed tooling and components.
- Store inventory in designated locations while maintaining accurate organization.

Housekeeping & Safety

- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Properly dispose of scrap materials and participate in metal and aluminum recycling programs.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures.

Training

- Assist with the training and mentoring of new employees as assigned.

Qualifications

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Experience using manufacturing equipment such as drill presses, milling machines, surface grinders, band saws, and hand tools.
- Proficient with precision measuring instruments, including callipers.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs safely.
- Previous experience in die assembly, tool and die, machining, or a related manufacturing environment is considered a solid asset.
