Role Overview

The Behaviour Therapist works under the supervision of a Registered Behaviour Analyst (RBA) and clinical leadership team to implement individualized ABA programs for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Therapy is delivered in 1:1, dyad, and small group settings across centre-based and potentially home-based environments.

Key Responsibilities

ABA Therapy Implementation

● Deliver ABA-based instruction in 1:1, dyad, and group settings

● Implement individualized programs designed by clinical supervisors

● Apply ABA principles in structured and natural learning environments

● Support speech and occupational therapy goals as directed

● Implement behaviour intervention plans, including self-regulation strategies





● Provide crisis intervention when required

Data Collection & Reporting

● Collect, record, and graph data on student performance

● Maintain accurate digital program records and documentation

● Complete daily communication reports for parents and caregivers

● Participate in supervision processes, including video submissions if required

Collaboration and Teamwork

● Collaborate with Senior Therapists, RBAs, Clinical Supervisors, and interdisciplinary

team members

● Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers

● Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development

● Follow all organizational policies, including health and safety protocols

Classroom and Student Support

● Support academic, behavioural, and social development using evidence-based

strategies

● Assist with group instruction and classroom routines

● Use a variety of teaching methods (e.g., direct instruction, multi-sensory learning)

● Support students with personal care needs when required (e.g., eating, toileting)

● Maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment

Qualifications

Education

● Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Applied Behaviour Analysis, Behavioural Science, or a

related field (required)





● Post-graduate certificate in ABA, Autism and Behavioural Science, or related field

(preferred)

Experience

● Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in an ABA setting in a 1:1 setting or small

group setting or other teaching experience

● Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder or developmental

disabilities

● Team lead or mentorship experience is an asset

Required Skills and Competencies

● Strong understanding of ABA principles and behaviour intervention strategies

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills

● Strong organizational and time-management abilities

● Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

● Comfortable working in structured, rapid-paced environments

● Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and adaptability

● Proficient with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices

● Openness to feedback and ongoing learning

Certifications and Requirements

● Valid Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Record Check

● First Aid & CPR certification

● CPI or BMS training (or willingness to obtain)

● RBT certification or coursework (asset)

● Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data tracking tools

● Access to reliable transportation

Work Location Aurora, ON. In Person Start Date: ASAP Hours of Work 32 to 37 hours per week

Equivalent experience or a combination of equivalent experience and education may be

accepted in place of education.
