Healing Hearts Foster Care Services is dedicated to providing safe, supportive, and nurturing environments for youth in care. We work closely with foster homes and group home programs to ensure high-quality care, stability, and positive outcomes for the individuals we serve.

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Employee Relations Coordinator to join our team. This is a dynamic, dual-function role that combines human resources functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, training, and employee records.

You will play a key role in supporting the full employee lifecycle while ensuring appropriate staffing coverage across our foster care and group home programs.

Key Responsibilities as a Employee Relations Coordinator:

- Coordinate full-cycle recruitment including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and reference checks
- Facilitate onboarding and orientation for new hires
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation
- Support employee relations, performance management, and investigations
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation and licensing requirements

Training & Development

- Coordinate and track staff training (e.g., First Aid/CPR, UMAB, internal training)
- Maintain training records and certification compliance
- Support performance review processes and professional development initiatives

Scheduling & Staffing Operations

- Develop and manage staff schedules across foster and group homes
- Ensure staffing levels meet program needs and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate shift coverage, replacements, and last-minute staffing needs
- Adjust schedules in response to absences, emergencies, and operational changes
- Communicate scheduling updates clearly to staff and leadership

Staff Oversight & Operational Support





- Provide day-to-day direction to staff regarding scheduling matters
- Assist in resolving scheduling conflicts and operational challenges
- Support adherence to company policies and procedures

Administration & Reporting

- Respond to HR and scheduling inquiries
- Maintain organized files and documentation
- Support reporting, workforce planning, and process improvements
- Assist leadership with administrative and operational tasks

Qualifications

- CHRP designation (or working toward a CHRP designation) through the HRPA is an asset
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field preferred
- 5–7+ years of experience in HR, scheduling, or a similar role
- Experience in staff scheduling within healthcare, social services, or 24/7 operations strongly preferred
- Experience in social services, foster care, or group home settings is an asset
- Solid knowledge of employment standards and HR best practices
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
