Business Development Associate — Atlantic Canada
Position: Business Development Associate
Location: St. John's, NL
Employment type: Full-Time
Experience required: 5–7 years of relevant business development, account management, or sales experience
Travel: 20–25%, throughout Atlantic Canada
Reports to: Director, Commercial Development

BioMaxx Environmental (“BioMaxx”) has been assisting Canadian municipalities and industrial companies with water and wastewater products and services since 2006. We are dedicated to improving water quality and environmental stewardship through advanced products and services. Our team of water and wastewater technicians, engineers and scientists is committed to delivering top-notch customer service and sustainable solutions for our clients.
In Atlantic Canada, BioMaxx serves over 100 municipalities, many of whom have been customers for more than 10 years. Our products include non-hazardous and conventional treatment chemicals along with a wide range of water monitoring and treatment equipment. Our services include wastewater treatment support, flow monitoring, ROV pipe inspection, leak detection, smoke/vapour testing, and several others. BioMaxx is entering an exciting growth phase in Atlantic Canada, expanding the services offered to existing customers and extending our reach to new municipal and industrial clients across the region.
Job Summary
We are seeking a Business Development Associate to manage and grow BioMaxx's customer relationships across Atlantic Canada.
This role is focused on account management and business development execution — building on BioMaxx's longstanding municipal relationships, identifying new opportunities with municipal and industrial clients, and providing on-the ground input into the region's growth strategy. The BD Associate will work closely with and report to BioMaxx's Director, Commercial Development.
Day-to-Day Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage and grow relationships with existing municipal and industrial customers across Atlantic Canada;
- Serve as the primary point of contact for certain customer needs, service requests, and issue resolution;
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities with municipalities and industrial clients in the region;
- Prepare and present proposals, quotes, and service offerings to prospective and existing clients;
- Provide on-the-ground market insight and feedback to inform the Director’s regional growth strategy;
- Coordinate with BioMaxx's technical and operations teams to ensure service delivery meets customer expectations;
- Track and report on pipeline, account activity, and sales performance;
- Represent BioMaxx at industry conferences, municipal association events, and trade shows in the region;
- Travel throughout Atlantic Canada (20–25%) to meet with customers and support field and business development activities;
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
- 5–7 years of relevant industry experience in business development, account management, or sales, preferably selling to municipalities and/or industrial companies;
- Water or wastewater industry experience is a solid asset;
- Consideration will be made to individuals currently in a technical role seeking advancement;
- Proven ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships;
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills;
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage a regional territory;
- Comfortable balancing account management with a business development / hunting mindset;
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within Atlantic Canada;
- Degree or certification in environmental science, engineering, or a related field is an asset.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary: $50,000 - $65,000, commensurate with experience
Commission: Sales-based profit sharing, on top of base salary

Schedule: Monday to Friday, with occasional evenings/weekends for events and travel
