ROLE: As a Bookkeeper, you will be working alongside the rest of JP Accounting & Tax Services Inc. Staff in executing the operational requirements of our clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Full cycle bookkeeping which includes maintaining and reconciling GL accounts including cash, bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, and intercompany and sales reconciliation
· Journal entries
· Preparation and review of monthly financial statements.
· Prepare and file monthly HST/GST and WSIB remittances
· Prepare and maintain payroll and related government remittances
· Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and related accounting and reporting functions
· Payroll calculations for T4 slips, T4 summary and ROE
· Support with taxation, payroll and financial reporting
· Communicate with clients on phone and via e-mail
· Key-in and review T2 returns on Taxprep software
QUALIFICATIONS
· University Degree in Business Administration, accounting, or related field.
· Minimum two (2) years of experience working as a bookkeeper
· CPA designation or “in progress” an asset
· Experience working with Quickbooks (Online), AccountEdge, Simply Accounting and Taxprep as asset
· Robust verbal and written communication skills
· A self-starter who is self-motivated and can work independently to meet deadlines
· Team-oriented with a positive and constructive attitude
· Ability to remain calm and professional during high periods of stress
· Extremely detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and proven ability to effectively manage and prioritize workflow
· Strong time management and organizational skills
Job Type: Freelance: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
