Summary

Gitsegukla First Nation is seeking an organized, motivated, and community-minded Housing Manager to lead the delivery of our on-reserve housing program. This position is responsible for overseeing housing operations, coordinating maintenance and capital projects, implementing the Housing Policy, supporting tenants, and ensuring safe, quality housing for our members.

What you will do

- Oversee all aspects of the on-reserve housing program, including maintenance repairs, renovations, and new construction.
- Supervise the Construction Foreman and Housing/IT Clerk.
- Implement and maintain the Gitsegukla Housing Policy.
- Coordinate tenant services, inspections, move-ins, move-outs, and housing applications.
- Plan and oversee capital housing projects, including contractor procurement and project monitoring.




- Manage housing budgets, rental administration, reporting, and funding opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, health and safety standards, and housing regulations.
- Prepare reports for Chief & Council, funding agencies, and internal planning purposes.

Qualifications: Education and Experience

- Minimum 2 years' experience in housing, asset, or building management, preferably within a First Nations or rural/remote community.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Post-secondary education in Administration, Construction, Property Management, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Experience working with ISC, CMHC, or other Indigenous housing programs is an asset.
- Experience with budgeting, financial oversight, and proposal writing is an asset.

Skill Sets and Competencies

- Knowledge of housing policy, property management, maintenance standards, and capital projects.
- Knowledge of and previous work experience with First Nations Communities and Indigenous Cultures is a definite asset.
- Is approachable, qualified, personable and able to build harmonious working relationships with co-workers and all external stakeholders
- Able to exercise diplomacy, tact and good judgment.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required.
- Valid criminal record (CPIC) check
- Ability to obtain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
