Position Summary

The Emergency Restoration Technician supports and performs restoration work on emergency projects involving fire, smoke, wind, water, mold, asbestos, and other property damage.

This role is responsible for helping ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Strong documentation, communication, construction knowledge, attention to detail, and professionalism are essential.

Key Responsibilities

- Follow the approved scope of work and production package to complete tear-outs, structural drying, contents handling, cleanup, and minor reconstruction with minimal deficiencies.
- Work collaboratively with skilled technicians, general labourers, subcontractors, and other team members to support an efficient and cohesive emergency response team.
- Coordinate activities with customers, subcontractors, consultants, Project Managers, and the Scheduler.
- Assist with monitoring subcontractor performance and confirm that work is completed in accordance with project requirements and contractual obligations.
- Obtain customer signatures on all required documentation, including:
- Work authorizations
- Customer responsibility forms
- Chemical consent forms and applicable Safety Data Sheets
- Contents disposal agreements
- Certificates of completion
- Other project-related documents
- Submit completed paperwork to the Project Manager Assistant in a timely and organized manner.
- Respond professionally to customer questions and concerns and promptly refer issues to the appropriate department when required.




- Use company-approved technology, mobile applications, and electronic devices to:
- Label and upload photos
- Create panoramic photo tours using DocuSketch
- Record moisture readings
- Upload project documentation
- Maintain accurate and current job files
- Promptly report all accidents, incidents, and near misses to a supervisor.
- Obtain a company purchase order number before ordering approved materials, subcontracted labour, equipment rentals, or other job-related expenses.
- Ensure vendor and supplier receipts and packing slips include the correct job name, job number, and purchase order number for accurate job costing.
- Assist with water extraction, equipment placement, drywall removal, demolition, containment setup, contents handling, cleaning, and other restoration or construction-related duties.
- Complete emergency tear-outs safely and in accordance with insurance carrier guidelines.
- Take and document moisture readings, photograph damaged areas, and identify affected locations on floor plans.
- Set up drying equipment and install appropriate containment to protect unaffected areas and contents.
- Participate in the emergency on-call rotation.
- Maintain regular and accurate updates in Complete DRS.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience





- Minimum three years of experience as a proficient tradesperson.
- Strong knowledge of residential construction practices.
- Previous experience in the property restoration industry is preferred.
- IICRC certifications are considered an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work safely in physically demanding and changing environments.
- Valid driver’s licence and a satisfactory driving record may be required.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $24.00-$26.00 per hour
