Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a wide range of dental procedures, including restorative, orthodontic, pediatric, and cosmetic treatments
- Prepare treatment rooms with the necessary instruments and materials, ensuring sterilization standards are met
- Take and develop high-quality dental radiographs (X-rays) using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) technology when applicable
- Manage patient records accurately using dental practice management software such as Dentrix and Epic
- Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring comfort throughout visits
- Support the front desk team by handling dental receptionist duties,
including scheduling appointments and verifying patient information
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile environment in compliance with OSHA regulations and infection control protocols
Qualifications
- Certified Level II Dental Assistant with current licensure or certification in good standing
- Proven experience with dental assisting procedures, including working with pediatric and orthodontic patients
- Familiarity with dental software platforms such as Dentrix and Epic for record keeping and scheduling
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry and patient care processes
- Ability to operate CAD systems for digital impressions or restorations when required
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and backgrounds
- Experience in orthodontics is highly preferred but not mandatory; training can be provided for the right candidate
