About the Role

True North Labour is currently seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Senior Finishing Carpenter (with atleast 7 years experience) for an upcoming project on Vancouver Island.

In this role, your primary focus will be high-end finish carpentry on a unique, boat-access-only job site. If you are a seasoned, highly reliable tradesperson with a flawless eye for detail, a great attitude, and the ability to work independently in a unique setting, we want to hear from you today!

Location Note: While the job location is in Port Alberni, BC, we are actively recruiting talented professionals from the Metro Vancouver area. Transportation to the region, as well as full housing and food, will be completely covered for the duration of the contract.

Key Responsibilities

- Expert Finish Carpentry: Execute high-quality finish carpentry work to exact specifications and premium industry standards.
- Blueprint & Spec Interpretation: Read and interpret architectural drawings, layouts, and designs accurately.
- Site Adaptability: Confidently work on a remote, boat-access-only site while maintaining high productivity and organization.
- Safety Leadership: Follow all site safety protocols, company procedures, and utilize safety equipment correctly at all times.

Candidate Qualifications

- Location: Based in the Metro Vancouver area and willing to travel/relocate to the Port Alberni job site for the project duration.
- Experience:



Minimum 7+ years of proven, dedicated experience as an expert finishing carpenter.
- Skills: Elite attention to detail, advanced hand and power tool proficiency, and solid problem-solving skills for custom installations.
- Attributes: Reliable, punctual, professional, and capable of working effectively in remote team settings.

Required Certifications & PPE:

- Valid Fall Protection Certification (Mandatory).
- WHMIS 2015 (Required).
- Required PPE: Hard hat, High-visibility safety vest, and Steel-toe boots.
