The Psychiatric Aide will be working on the Central Services Support Relief team with patient populations that include Adult Acute, Forensic, Tertiary Rehabilitation, and Young Adults. This portfolio is under the Edmonton Zone Mental Health and Addiction programs. Description:

As a Psychiatric Aide, you will work as a collaborative member of the multi-disciplinary team to meet the personal care needs and comforts of patients in accordance with the patient care plan and facility policies and procedures. You will assist nurses with the provision of routine care to meet patients' hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation and safety needs as well as assist with organized activities or programs. In this position, you will observe and report on a patients mood, health, well-being,



maintain effective communication with patients and health professionals, assist with the maintenance of a safe workplace for patients, staff and visitors as well as assist in the general support of the work area.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12. A combination of education and experience satisfactory to the employer will also be considered.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Current Basic Life Support Certificate.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a mental health and/or addiction inpatient setting is preferred.
