POSITION SUMMARY

The Hardware Engineer (Electronic Systems) is responsible for the design, validation, and support of electronic hardware used in safety-critical systems for passenger train door control.

Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor and working closely with System Engineering, Project Management, Software, and Production, this role ensures that electronic designs are robust, compliant, testable, and manufacturable throughout the full product lifecycle.

This is a hands-on engineering role with strong involvement in design reviews, testing, certification, and production support.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Hardware Design & Development

- Design and review analog and digital electronic circuits for control and supervision systems
- Design and review PCBs, including schematic capture and layout review
- Contribute to the development of safety-related electronic systems
- Support CPLD / FPGA designs where applicable

Testing, Validation & Certification

- Define, execute, or supervise hardware test benches
- Lead or support EMI/EMC, environmental, qualification, and routine testing
- Support homologation and certification activities
- Analyze test results and implement corrective actions

Technical Collaboration

- Participate actively in design reviews (technical contributor)
- Work closely with System Engineers to ensure system-level coherence
- Support Project Managers by providing technical input, estimates, and risk visibility
- Act as a technical resource for internal teams and customers





Production & Lifecycle Support

- Provide technical support to production and troubleshooting activities
- Review and generate technical documentation
- Verify or develop wiring and harness diagrams
- Support engineering changes (ECNs) related to hardware

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
- 7+ years of experience in hardware/electronic system design
- Strong experience with analog and digital circuits (motor control, microcontrollers, networking)
- Experience with PCB design tools (KiCad, Altium, or equivalent)
- Experience with hardware testing (EMI/EMC, environmental, qualification)
- Knowledge of certification standards (EMI/EMC, shock, vibration, flammability)
- Strong technical judgment, autonomy, and attention to detail
- Member of OIQ
- Bilingual (French & English)
- Willingness to travel occasionally (~10%)

- Experience in rail or aerospace industries
- Experience with safety-critical systems
- CPLD / FPGA design experience
- Embedded systems knowledge
- Familiarity with SolidWorks / AutoCAD

Pay: $75,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
