Position: Gas Technician 2 (G2) – Subcontractor
Compensation: 40% Commission on completed and paid service jobs

Position Summary

We are seeking a licensed and experienced Gas Technician 2 (G2) to join our growing appliance repair business as a subcontractor. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of residential gas dryers and gas stoves/ranges, as well as the installation of recent residential gas lines where permitted under their licence. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, customer-oriented, and committed to performing high-quality work in accordance with all applicable codes, regulations, and manufacturer specifications.

Responsibilities

- Install, diagnose, repair, and maintain residential gas dryers and gas stoves/ranges.
- Install new residential gas lines and gas appliance connections in compliance with all applicable codes and regulations.
- Perform gas leak detection, pressure testing, and system inspections using approved procedures and equipment.
- Ensure all installations and repairs comply with applicable gas codes, safety regulations, and manufacturer specifications.
- Replace defective components and verify proper appliance operation before completing each service call.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on gas appliances.
- Educate customers on the safe operation and maintenance of their gas appliances.
- Complete service reports, work orders, and required documentation accurately and promptly.




- Maintain a professional appearance and provide exceptional customer service.
- Supply and maintain all personal tools and equipment required to perform the work.

Requirements

- Valid Gas Technician 2 (G2) licence.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience installing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining residential gas appliances.
- Experience installing new residential gas lines is required.
- Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
- Proof of active General Liability insurance.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently manage assigned service calls.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Compensation

- 40% commission on completed and paid service jobs.
- Subcontractor position.
- All required replacement parts and materials for customer repairs will be supplied by the company.
- The subcontractor is responsible for maintaining their own licences, insurance, tools, vehicle, fuel, and other business-related expenses.

Service Area

Work will primarily be performed at residential customer locations throughout:

- Toronto
- Durham Region
- Greater Toronto Area (GTA)

Travel between customer locations is required.

This is a subcontractor opportunity. The successful candidate is responsible for maintaining all required licences, insurance, certifications, and any other legal or regulatory requirements necessary to perform the services.

Pay: $100.00-$1,500.00 per week
