ROLE

The Yard Operations And Service Technician (Snow & Ice Management) performs light-duty vehicle mechanic work as required on a growing fleet of 22 light-duty trucks and equipment while helping our yard operations as needed.

This is approximately a 6-month contract position that has a possibility of renewal every year for the right candidate. Ideal for those that have summer-focused work and are looking for an ongoing consistent winter focused position

What You'll Do Here:

PRE-SEASON

- Assist with shop, yard, and truck project/ enhancements or repairs
- Ensure trucks and equipment are season-ready
- Prepare sites with appropriate flagging for the season
- Conduct site damage repairs and evaluations
- Place in office salt buckets

IN -SEASON (Non-Peak Operations)

- Maintain and service a fleet of light-duty trucks and equipment
- Ensure trucks are cleaned, operational and put away ready to go before and after snow and salt service runs
- Maintain operation yard

IN - SEASON (Peak Operations during snowfalls)

- Maintain and service a fleet of light-duty trucks and equipment




- Complete pre-snow event checklists to ensure trucks are ready to go out for their service route in full operating condition
- Efficiently dispatch drivers from the yard
- Coordinate with subcontractors for salt loading
- Fill trucks with salt/brine
- Address truck issues and assist in completing repairs promptly
- Prepare the yard for the next shift (There will be a rotating shift between the technicians during continued multi day snow falls)
- Replenish salt/brine for PSS trucks running low while on shift
- Conduct quality control checks on-sites, plow missed areas, conduct service calls and report to dispatch with progress of site completion
- Prepare the trucks for the next driver/shift in operational order

What You Bring to the Team:

· 1+ years of mechanical and electrical light-duty mechanic vehicle experience (red seal not required)

· Welding experience is an asset

· Good understanding of the English language with excellent math skills

· Possess a Class 5 Driver License





· Reliable transportation during snow conditions (confidence driving in snow and ice)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS:

· Work overtime when required (12-14 hours rotating shifts During Snow Falls), including night/early morning shifts

COMPENSATION RANGE: $30 - $35 / Hour

PERFORMANCE REVIEW & OTHER COMMENTS:

· Sept 8, 2026 start date but flexible

. Three (3) month probationary period (May be extended to 6 months due to seasonal work)

. Six (6) month renewable contract from September to March

· Annual Performance Review

- Do you have any snow removal experience? Whether it would be servicing snow removal equipment, operating it, or both?
- Our trucks are mounted with snow plows. They are both standard & automatic and are 3/4 and 1-ton trucks. Are you confident that you have basic mechanical/ electrical and welding experience on these vehicles? (The welding is not a deal breaker)

Experience:

- Skidsteer/Bobcat: 1 year (preferred)
- Mechanic: 1 year (required)
