Our client designs and builds custom automated weld cells, robotic equipment, assembly fixtures, and production automation for the automotive industry. They're looking for experienced Machine Builders who enjoy building complete machines, solving mechanical challenges on the shop floor, and seeing projects through from start to finish.

Unlike many shops where work is divided into specialized tasks, you'll be involved throughout the entire build. From reading drawings and machining parts to plumbing pneumatics and hydraulics, troubleshooting, machine integration, and final commissioning, you'll have the opportunity to apply your full range of skills.

What You'll Be Doing

- Build custom automated weld cells, robotic equipment, assembly fixtures, and production machinery from the ground up
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, pneumatic drawings, and Bills of Material (BOMs)
- Assemble, fit, and align structural steel, guarding, machine details, and mechanical components
- Install and plumb pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Mount and align sensors, safety devices, and related machine components according to engineering drawings
- Support machine teardown, integration, troubleshooting, installation, and final commissioning
- Modify existing components, or fabricate new ones using manual shop equipment, to resolve fit-up and assembly challenges while maintaining required tolerances
- Operate manual shop equipment including milling machines, drills, grinders, band saws, plasma cutters, and related fabrication equipment
- Verify alignment and quality using precision measuring equipment including micrometers,



calipers, height gauges, and levels
- Safely move equipment using overhead cranes and forklifts
- Travel periodically to support equipment installations at customer facilities in Alabama and Mexico. Travel assignments are typically 2 to 3 weeks, with the team making every effort to balance project needs with family commitments

You're Likely a Fit If You Have

- Strong experience building custom machinery, automated equipment, robotic cells, weld cells, or similar industrial equipment
- Hands-on experience with machine builds, machine integration, or equipment rebuilds
- Strong mechanical assembly, fitting, alignment, and troubleshooting skills
- Experience reading blueprints, schematics, pneumatic drawings, and Bills of Material
- Practical machining and fabrication experience using manual shop equipment
- Experience with pneumatic plumbing and hydraulic systems
- The ability to independently modify or fabricate components to keep machine builds moving
- Experience working to close tolerances using precision measuring instruments
- Willingness to travel for customer installations

Nice to Have

- Trade certification as a General Machinist, Industrial Millwright, or Tool & Die Maker
- Light MIG welding experience
- Rigging experience
- Fixture build experience
- Automotive automation or custom machine building experience

Compensation & Benefits

- $36.00 to $40.00 per hour, depending on experience
