Position: IT Systems & Support Administrator
Purpose: Reporting to the IT Manager, the IT Systems & Support Administrator is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and improving Great Lakes Copper’s IT systems, infrastructure, end-user technology, and plant-floor computing environment. This role provides responsive frontline support while also administering servers, networks, applications, backups, security controls, user accounts, hardware, software, and related documentation.
The IT Systems & Support Administrator works closely with the IT team, business users, plant operations, and external vendors to ensure reliable, secure, and effective technology services for manufacturing, warehouse, and office operations. This role requires close collaboration with the IT team to ensure optimal performance and reliability of our IT resources.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide frontline IT support for users across the organization, including troubleshooting PCs, laptops, tablets, printers, scanners, phones, cameras, peripherals, desktop applications, and business systems.
- Administer physical and virtual servers, network storage, server operating systems, and related infrastructure services.
- Install, configure, monitor, and maintain network infrastructure including switches, VLANs, Wi-Fi networks, firewalls, VPN, VoIP, and related network devices.
- Support Microsoft 365, Exchange/Exchange Online, Active Directory, Entra ID/Azure AD, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, DFS, and user account management.
- Monitor IT systems, maintain patch levels, review system performance, and assist with capacity planning, optimization, and reliability improvements.
- Maintain system security, backup configuration, disaster recovery documentation, and participate in regular backup and recovery testing.
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including account setup, access changes, hardware preparation, and user training.
- Support desktop and business applications including Microsoft Office, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and other manufacturing or business systems.
- Manage procurement, configuration, inventory, licensing, and lifecycle documentation for IT hardware, software, and services.
- Collaborate with vendors and service providers for specialized support, escalations, maintenance, and project work.
- Create and maintain documentation, standard operating procedures, checklists, and knowledge base materials for IT systems and support processes.
- Provide occasional on-call, after-hours, on-site, or warehouse support as required.
- Perform other duties as required to support IT operations and business needs.

You Bring:
TECHNICAL SKILLS / TECHNOLOGY STACK:
- Windows Server administration, including AD, DNS, DHCP, DFS, GPO, and related infrastructure services.
- Windows 10/11 desktop support, PC maintenance, software installation, imaging, and basic hardware repair.
- Microsoft 365, Exchange/Exchange Online, Entra ID/Azure AD, Microsoft Office, and common business applications.
- Network protocols and technologies including VLANs, routing, NAT, VPN, Wi-Fi, firewalls, and VoIP.
- Network and infrastructure devices including Cisco switches, Ubiquiti Wi-Fi access points, Fortinet firewalls, printers, scanners, cameras, and other plant-floor or office technology.
- VMware vSphere administration and virtual server management.
- Backup and disaster recovery tools, including Veeam Backup and Replication.
- PowerShell or Python scripting experience is an asset.
- Linux server administration and Microsoft SQL Server administration experience are assets.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Post-secondary education in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in IT support, system administration, network administration, or a similar technical role.
- Experience supporting both infrastructure and end-user technology in a business or manufacturing environment is preferred.
