Beyond Crisis at Nada Johnson Consulting & Counselling Services (www.nadajohnson.com) is a specialized virtual private practice providing trauma-informed counselling to adolescent girls (14+), women, couples, and families impacted by sexual abuse, sexual assault, interpersonal violence, and relational trauma.

We are seeking compassionate and experienced Associate Trauma Therapists (MSW, RSW) to join our growing clinical team.
About the Prospect
This independent contractor position offers the flexibility of private practice while providing the support of a cooperative, specialized sexual trauma-focused team.
As an Associate Trauma Therapist, you will provide virtual counselling to clients across Ontario, Canada experiencing the impacts of sexual trauma. This role is ideal for clinicians who value meaningful therapeutic relationships, clinical excellence, and ongoing professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Provide virtual trauma counselling to clients across Ontario
- Conduct trauma-informed assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Support female clients recovering from sexual abuse and sexual assault
- Apply evidence-based interventions that promote safety, emotional regulation, resilience, and recovery.
- Support adolescent girls (14+), women, couples, and families navigating trauma-related challenges, including trust, communication, attachment, boundaries, and relationship repair.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold professional and ethical standards.
- Participate in clinical consultation and ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
Applicants must have:
- A Master's degree in Social Work, Counselling Psychology, or equivalent.
- Registration in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) as an RSW
- Experience providing trauma-focused trauma counselling or psychotherapy
- Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and treatment planning skills.
- Excellent communication and therapeutic relationship-building abilities.
Clinical Experience
Experience working with the following is preferred:
- Sexual abuse and sexual assault
- Complex PTSD (C-PTSD) and PTSD
- Attachment trauma
- Dissociation
- Interpersonal and relational sexual trauma
- Trauma-related anxiety and depression
- Trauma
- Identity and self-worth concerns
Experience supporting female survivors through longer-term sexual trauma recovery is considered a strong asset.
Clinical Approaches
The ideal candidate has experience using evidence-based trauma interventions, including:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Cognitive restructuring
- Trauma Counselling
- Emotion regulation strategies
- Trauma stabilization
- Coping skills development
- Attachment-informed therapy
- Client-centred and strengths-based practice
- Relational and feminist approaches
- Culturally responsive and inclusive care

This is an Independent Contractor position offering:
- 60/40 revenue split (Associate Trauma Therapists receive 60% of per hour session fees).
