This is a regular, full time role for a Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse at Port Hardy Mental Health & Addiction Services (PHMHAS) in Port Hardy on Vancouver Island, BC.

Shift Start Time/End Time: 08:30-19:00

Days Off: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday

What You’ll Do

As a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the Mental Health and Substance Use team, you will provide assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and ongoing support to clients experiencing mental health and substance use challenges.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary Intensive Case Management Team, you will partner with clients, families and community healthcare providers to develop and deliver individualized, client-centred care and rehabilitation plans. Services are primarily provided in community settings, with some care delivered in facility settings as required.

What You’ll Need to Apply

- Current registration (or eligibility) with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse
- Minimum of 2 years adult or child/youth MHSU nursing experience.




- Minimum of 6 months experience supporting clients with substance use issues in a community setting, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Current CPR certification.
- Knowledge of Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) model.
- Knowledge of assessment and treatment and case management methodologies; including motivational interviewing.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation.
- Knowledge of community MHSU programs, services, resources and promotion.
- Knowledge of other health disciplines (including primary care physicians) and their role in client care.
