Job Description

The Acoustic Grill, Picton’s iconic live-music destination for the past 20 years, is looking for a reliable and energetic Line Cook / Prep Cook to join our tight-knit kitchen team. In this full-time or part-time role you will help deliver the high-quality, craveable pub classics and daily specials our guests expect at a fair price. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment where lunch and dinner service runs six (soon seven) days a week. This is a hands-on position that rewards hustle, teamwork, and a passion for great food. Starting pay is based on experience and role, with an additional tip-out paid on total restaurant sales.

Duties

- Prepare and portion all mise en place, sauces, and daily specials according to our recipes and quality standards

- Work the line during peak service, executing burgers, sandwiches, salads, appetizers, and entrées to order while maintaining ticket times

- Assist with grill, fry, dish and expo stations as needed

- Maintain impeccable kitchen cleanliness and follow all sanitation and food-safety procedures

- Label, date, and rotate stock; communicate low-stock items to the kitchen manager

- Support menu development by testing new items and providing feedback

- Collaborate with front-of-house and fellow kitchen staff to ensure smooth service and an exceptional guest experience

- Pitch in with opening, closing, and deep-cleaning tasks as part of a small, hardworking team

Skills & Requirements





- Food Handler’s Certificate is mandatory

- Prior restaurant or food-industry experience is strongly preferred but not required — we are happy to train the right attitude

- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen

- Positive team player who can remain calm and professional under pressure

- Reliable transportation and flexible availability (days, evenings, weekends)

- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs

Compensation

- Competitive hourly wage based on experience and specific role

- Additional tip-out calculated on total restaurant sales
