Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Underground Diamond Drilling Supervisor to lead and oversee underground diamond drilling operations within our mining or exploration project. This role is vital in ensuring safe, effective, and precise drilling activities that meet project goals and safety standards. As a key leader on-site, you will coordinate drilling teams, manage equipment, and uphold strict safety protocols to deliver high-quality results while maintaining a productive work environment. Your expertise will drive operational excellence and contribute to the successful completion of underground exploration or development projects.

Duties

- Supervise and coordinate underground diamond drilling activities, ensuring adherence to safety procedures and operational plans
- Lead, motivate, and train drill crews to optimize performance and maintain high standards of safety and quality
- Plan daily drilling schedules, allocate resources effectively, and monitor progress against project timelines
- Conduct regular inspections of drilling equipment, including mechanical systems, to ensure proper maintenance and functionality
- Implement safety protocols, conduct risk assessments, and promote a safety-first culture among team members




- Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and other stakeholders to interpret drill data and adjust operations accordingly
- Maintain detailed records of drilling activities, equipment usage, safety incidents, and operational reports

Skills

- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on drilling machinery
- familiarity with underground mining or exploration environments
- Knowledge of mining industry practices related to drilling operations is advantageous
- experience operating heavy machinery in confined underground spaces
- Commercial driving skills with a valid license for operating company vehicles or trucks within site boundaries
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively in a fast-paced environment
