Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Carpenter with Modular Experience to join our dynamic team. This energetic professional will be instrumental in constructing, installing, and maintaining modular structures at our Calmar, AB location and occasionally at remote project sites as needed. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for craftsmanship, a comprehensive understanding of construction processes, and hands-on experience with modular building techniques to deliver exceptional results efficiently and safely.

Duties

- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to guide assembly and installation processes.
- Coordinate the installation, assembly, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of modular buildings.
- Ensure all work meets Komplete Modular Solutions' quality standards, project specifications, and client expectations.
- Promote and enforce company Health, Safety, and Environmental policies while maintaining a safe job site.
- Conduct daily toolbox meetings, hazard assessments, and safety inspections.
- Plan labour, equipment, materials, and subcontractor requirements to maximize productivity.
- Complete daily reports, timesheets, inspections, deficiency lists, and project documentation accurately and on time.
- Identify and resolve site challenges while minimizing project delays.




- Perform final walkthroughs with clients and project teams to ensure all deficiencies are completed prior to demobilization.
- Mentor and develop crew members while promoting a positive, team-oriented culture.
- Construct, install, and assemble modular components using hand tools, power tools, etc.
- Install cabinetry, flooring, siding, and perform carpentry tasks including woodworking and assembly of modular units.
- Conduct restoration work as needed to maintain quality standards across projects.
- Operate heavy equipment safely for moving large modules or materials; perform site preparation including plumbing, electrical work, caulking, and construction painting.
- Accurately estimate construction needs and timelines; collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines efficiently.

Skills

- Proven experience reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings with precision.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and heavy lifting equipment safely.
- Strong background in carpentry, woodworking, cabinetry installation, flooring installation, and general construction experience.
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes and project planning.
- Ability to perform plumbing and electrical tasks with safety awareness; experience in restoration projects is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with handyman experience for diverse repair or assembly tasks.

Qualifications:

- Journeyman/woman preferred
- Previous supervisory experience preferred / would be an asset
- Strong background in modular building installation, carpentry, finishing, renovations, and building systems.
- Class 5 Driver's License with Clean Abstract
- Ability to travel to project sites across Canada as required.
- First aid, CSTS, WHMIS, Fall Protection, and other safety tickets are considered assets
