Overview Welcome to SITE 248. This October, we are unleashing SITE 248, an intense, immersive haunted corn maze, and we are looking for dedicated performers to bring our darkest nightmares to life.

This is not your average "jump out of a dark corner and yell" haunted house. We are casting for a highly technical, scene-based, and touch-interactive attraction. If you have a passion for horror and thrive on the adrenaline rush of delivering the perfect, calculated scare, this is an incredibly fun and gratifying role. There is nothing quite like the rush of executing a flawless scene, watching a group dissolve into absolute terror, and knowing you were the one who orchestrated it.

The Role: Technical & Touch-Based Acting Our scenes rely on precise timing, environmental integration, and physical interaction. You will be trained in safe, controlled, touch-based scare techniques to break the traditional barrier between actor and guest, pulling them directly into the story. Because this is a massive outdoor farm attraction, performances are held rain or shine—meaning you will use the mud, the wind, and the elements to your advantage to create an unforgettable, chilling atmosphere.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Execute Technical Scenes: Portray highly specific, frightening characters within structured, repeated scenes, resetting quickly and flawlessly for the next group.
- Touch-Based Interaction: Engage visitors through approved, lively physical contact and expressive movements to heighten the immersive experience,



always maintaining strict safety and operational protocols.
- Weather the Elements: Deliver high-energy, terrifying performances outdoors in the corn maze, rain or shine.
- Read the Room: Monitor guest reactions in real-time, adjusting your performance and physical interactions to ensure the scares remain safe, thrilling, and appropriately intense.
- Team Coordination: Collaborate closely with fellow actors and event staff to time out scares, execute distractions, and manage scene transitions for maximum impact.
- Character Upkeep: Participate in costume changes, makeup application, and rehearsals to perfect your character's specific physical mechanics.

Skills & Qualifications

- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding, lively, and expressive actions for extended periods in varying outdoor weather conditions.
- Technical Precision: Strong situational awareness and the ability to hit your marks, reset, and repeat technical scares with consistency.
- Boundary Awareness: A deep understanding of physical boundaries and the maturity to execute touch-based acting safely and professionally.
- Improvisation & Engagement: Excellent communication skills to interact with guests confidently, deliver convincing dialogue, and adapt to unpredictable crowd reactions.
- High Energy: An enthusiastic attitude with a genuine passion for entertaining. The environment is fast-paced, and maintaining a high level of intensity is key.
- Coachability: Willingness to learn new scare techniques, memorize scene mechanics, and strictly follow all safety and costume guidelines.
