Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Cash Application Analyst to join our Finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately applying customer payments, reconciling accounts, investigating payment discrepancies, and ensuring customer accounts are maintained accurately and promptly. You will work closely with the Billing, Collections, and the accounting teams to resolve payment issues, improve cash application processes, and support the company's overall cash flow and financial operations in a fast-paced high volume operation.
Key Responsibilities
· Take ownership of the daily cash application process by accurately applying customer payments received through EFT, ACH, wire transfers, cheques, lockbox, and credit cards.
· Investigate and resolve unapplied cash, short payments, overpayments, deductions, and payment discrepancies to keep customer accounts accurate and current.
· Reconcile daily cash receipts to bank deposits, ensuring all transactions are accounted for and posted correctly.
· Partner with the Accounts Receivable, Collections, Billing, and the accounting teams to resolve payment issues and deliver an exceptional customer experience.
· Communicate with customers to obtain remittance information and clarify payment allocations when required.
· Process customer refunds and credit balances in accordance with company policies and internal controls.
· Monitor unapplied cash and aged payment exceptions, proactively identifying issues and driving them to resolution.
· Prepare daily, weekly, and month-end cash application reports and reconciliations to support financial reporting and month-end close.
· Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance the accuracy of cash application procedures.
· Maintain complete, accurate, and audit-ready documentation while ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting best practices.
· Support cross-functional finance initiatives and provide backup assistance to the Accounts Receivable team as needed.
· Contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented environment by sharing ideas, supporting colleagues, and helping drive continuous improvement across finance.
Qualifications
· Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
· Minimum 3 years of experience in Cash applications.
· Strong understanding of accounting principles, account reconciliations, and cash application processes.
· Attention to detail with excellent deal of accuracy, organizational, and time management skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including functions such as PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and basic formulas
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve payment discrepancies.
· Good communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Pay: $40,000.00-$50,000.00 per year
