Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting equipment and facilities to ensure smooth operations. This role requires a proactive approach to preventative maintenance and quick problem-solving skills to minimize downtime. The Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in supporting the safety, efficiency, and reliability of our operations.

Responsibilities

- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues using hand tools and power tools
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs
- Assist in installation, setup, and calibration of new equipment
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns or malfunctions to minimize operational disruptions
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies during all maintenance activities (e.g. Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee)
- Collaborate with other departments to address maintenance needs and improve processes
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe at all times

Qualifications

- Proven experience in mechanical maintenance or a related field is required
- Solid knowledge of mechanical systems and components, and basic building maintenance




- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools required for repair work
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
- Computer skills required to research/investigate information about equipment, and ability to document work and communicate
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures
- Relevant certifications or technical training in maintenance or mechanics is a plus
- Ability to think fast/work fast while maintaining accuracy, prioritizing and multi-tasking.
- Post-secondary training in a recognized trade or equivalent experience is advantageous

Physical Requirements:

- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs
- Must be able to do some travel

Pay: $19.00-$20.00 per hour
