This position will begin specifically managing projects for contracts already in our possession. New contracts may be added as you develop your customer base, or as new outside sales are obtained by you. Salary or wages will be dependent on experience.
Duties
- Utilize organizational skills to manage projects from ordering materials, scheduling installations, creating & dispersing work orders, and following up on job schedules as they are being executed.
- Greet customers warmly and identify their needs through active listening and effective communication.
- Conduct engaging product demonstrations to highlight features and benefits, enhancing customer understanding and interest when required.
- Assist customers with product selection, upselling relevant accessories or upgrades to maximize satisfaction and sales as necessary.
- Manage point-of-sale (POS) transactions accurately, including cash handling and processing payments efficiently.
- Maintain organized merchandising displays that attract attention and promote featured products.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries via phone or in person with professionalism and courtesy.
- Utilize organizational skills to manage time effectively during busy periods while maintaining high service standards.
Experience
- Proven experience in floor covering sales and retail sales environments, demonstrating a strong understanding of product features and benefits.
- Sales experience with the ability to perform product demos confidently and explain complex features clearly.
- Familiarity with merchandising principles, POS systems, cash handling procedures, and basic math skills for transactions.
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and active listening, to build rapport with customers.
- Strong organizational skills combined with time management abilities to prioritize tasks efficiently during high-volume periods.
- Previous experience in the flooring industry is a plus, along with a passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Excel & Word are a must for this position.
