About Pinnacle Pursuits

Pinnacle Pursuits creates engaging, inclusive and memorable outdoor experiences that help young people build confidence, develop leadership skills and connect with others. We are seeking an enthusiastic and safety-focused Lakeside Lifeguard and Outdoor Adventure Facilitator to join our team for a one-week summer camp.

This is an ideal opportunity for a qualified lifeguard who enjoys working outdoors, supporting youth and helping participants have secure, positive and rewarding adventures.

Position Overview

The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for supervising waterfront activities and maintaining a safe lakeside environment. When not assigned to waterfront duties, the individual will be available to help support and facilitate other camp activities, including canoeing, outdoor adventures, team-building challenges, games and recreational programs.

Primary Responsibilities

· Supervise swimming, waterfront and lakeside activities.

· Enforce waterfront rules and follow established emergency procedures.

· Continuously monitor participants and identify potential hazards.

· Respond confidently and appropriately to emergencies.

· Inspect the waterfront and safety equipment before activities begin.

· Assist with canoeing instruction, participant supervision and watercraft safety.

· Facilitate outdoor activities, adventure programs, team-building challenges and group games.

· Explain activity instructions and safety expectations clearly.

· Encourage participation while supporting different abilities and comfort levels.

· Help maintain and organize program and safety equipment.

· Work collaboratively with Pinnacle Pursuits staff and camp personnel.

· Contribute to a welcoming,



inclusive and positive camp environment.

Required Qualifications

· Current National Lifeguard certification or another recognized waterfront lifeguarding qualification.

· Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C/AED certification.

· Previous experience supervising swimmers in a lake or waterfront environment.

· Confidence working with children and youth.

· Strong communication, teamwork and leadership skills.

· Mature, dependable and attentive to safety.

· Physically capable of performing lifeguarding rescues and participating in active outdoor programs.

· Able to work outdoors in changing weather conditions.

· Willingness to complete a criminal record check, including a vulnerable-sector check, if required.

Preferred Qualifications

· National Lifeguard – Waterfront certification.

· Canoeing or paddling experience and instructional experience.

· Experience working at summer camps or facilitating youth recreation, outdoor education, team-building or adventure programs.

· Bronze Cross, Wilderness First Aid, Paddle Canada or similar outdoor qualifications.

· Experience supporting participants with different abilities, needs and levels of confidence.
