MAINTENANCE ELECTRICIAN

Food & Beverage Manufacturing

Full-Time | Days | On-Site

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Electrician to join our maintenance team in a fast-paced food and beverage manufacturing environment. This individual will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of all electrical systems and equipment on the production floor. The ideal candidate takes a disciplined, root-cause-based approach to diagnostics and holds themselves to a high standard of workmanship and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform thorough electrical troubleshooting on production equipment including motors, drives, contactors, PLCs, sensors, and control panels using a root cause analysis approach before replacing any components• Diagnose and repair electrical faults from load back to source, including full circuit tracing to contactors, disconnects, and panels• Complete all work orders with accurate documentation of findings, actions taken, and parts used in the CMMS system• Execute preventive maintenance tasks on schedule and flag potential failures before they result in downtime• Install, modify, and upgrade electrical systems and equipment in compliance with NEC and local codes• Collaborate with operators and production supervisors to communicate equipment status and estimated repair times• Maintain a safe work environment and adhere strictly to LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures and all electrical safety standards• Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing equipment reliability and reducing unplanned downtime• Maintain accurate parts usage records and communicate inventory needs to the maintenance supervisor

Required Qualifications

- Red Seal Journeyman Electrician (Certificate of Qualification)



required; Interprovincial Red Seal endorsement preferred• 309A (Construction & Maintenance Electrician) or 442A (Industrial Electrician) trade certification strongly preferred• Minimum 3 to 5 years of industrial electrical experience, preferably in a food and beverage or manufacturing environment• Proven ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints• Hands-on experience with motor controls, VFDs, contactors, relay logic, and 3-phase power systems• Strong root cause analysis skills with the habit of diagnosing before replacing• Proficiency with electrical test equipment including multimeters, megohmmeters, and clamp meters• Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and applicable provincial electrical safety regulations• Familiarity with PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar) and basic HMI troubleshooting is preferred• Experience working in a CFIA-regulated or GMP environment is a plus• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and attention to detail

What We Expect from This Role

This is not a part-swapper position. We expect every technician to fully diagnose the root cause of any failure before a part is ordered or replaced. Work orders must be closed with complete documentation. Shortcuts that result in repeat failures or unplanned downtime are not acceptable. We hold our maintenance team to a high qualified standard and invest in those who take ownership of their work.

Schedule and Compensation

- Shift: Day shift, Monday through Friday (overtime may be required as needed)• Competitive hourly wage commensurate with experience and certifications• Benefits include health, dental, vision, and vacation pay

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: $31.14-$46.26 per hour
