JOB DESCRIPTION:

The primary function of this role is to support our Paint Department in a professional and presentable way while greeting and engaging customers with a welcoming and friendly rapport. You will support our valued customers by reviewing product selection, providing information on product specifications and advising on interior and exterior paint as well as guiding customers with projects involving paint, primers, stains, decorations and their applications. You will also support your team, department and the store through assisting retail customers, mixing paint, unloading deliveries and maintaining cleanliness as well as the merchandising of paint, stain, and primer products and their respective accessories.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Actively seek out and offer a friendly greeting throughout the entire store

· Represent the Home Hardware Paint Department in a presentable and professional way

· Assist retail customers with questions on product information and product application in-person and on the telephone

· Merchandise the Paint Department ensuring aisles and shelves are stocked

· Support customers with the mixing of paint products

· Support the Paint Department and warehouse with unloading deliveries and filling stock on the sales floor





· Perform housekeeping duties throughout the department and general area

· Assemble displays and stock and set up merchandise

· Treat all employees with respect

· Create a memorable and informative experience for the customer

· Be accessible to colleagues for questions and guidance where necessary

· Support and contribute to an environment that encourages high employee productivity and morale

· Maintain safety training certifications annually or as advised

· Set a good example by always following company policies and procedures

· Adhere to quality and customer service standards set forth by GHHBC

· Participate and represent store in local community events

· Work in a safe manner in accordance with provincial and federal safety legislation, as well as use of good common sense

· Report any potential hazards and unsafe behaviour to Management team and General Manager

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

· Reports directly to Paint Department Supervisor

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
