Your Opportunity

The primary responsibilities of this position include:

- Assist in the operation of the transit program. This includes traffic control, shuttle operation, lot cleanup, and supervision of parking and transit staff.
- With direction from the Department Supervisor, lead Transit staff to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the parking lots and shuttles and ensure the smooth flow of traffic on our properties
- Support the with recruitment, onboarding, and training of seasonal staff
- Assist with general maintenance, snow removal, moving supplies/equipment, as well as set-up,



takedown, and operations for seasonal operations, special events and functions as required
- Stack, split and move firewood as needed
- Collect and transport garbage and recyclable material in parking lots for disposal/processing
- Assist with processing deliveries, including unloading supplies received
- Advise Department Supervisor of any issues or concerns noted during shifts such as condition of equipment, infrastructure repairs, staff performance, etc.
- Greet guests, assisting with questions or concerns as needed, contributing to a positive visitor experience
- Ensure safe operation of small/heavy equipment such as snow blowers, handheld power tools, including completion of safety checks to minimize risk, injury, and property damage
- Complete and document required safety checks of assigned vehicle(s) and equipment. Reporting any equipment defects.
- Follow the CH preventative maintenance program, keeping equipment and vehicles clean for safety and to maintain professional appearance.
- Work in accordance with the Conservation Halton’s Safety Policies & Procedures and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and all other related manuals
- Other duties as assigned

Your Qualifications

- Previous experience in parking lot operations is an asset; however training will be provided
- Working knowledge of ski resort operations an asset
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to provide direction to the public and other CH staff (vehicle and pedestrian traffic)
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience is an asset
- Ability to work in and adapt to the daily challenges associated with a fast-paced environment. With the flexibility to assume a variety of tasks as required
- Customer service mindset, with strong problem solving and decision-making skills in managing guest interactions and internal/external stakeholders
- Ability to handle difficult situations while remaining calm under pressure
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment, providing support to other departments as required
- Ability to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, on varied terrain.
- Able to lift up to 40 pounds, stand, and walk for long periods of time, bend, stretch, and work from ladders or step stools
- A valid Ontario Drivers Licence, minimum Class “G”, with a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract is required. *Abstract completed by Conservation Halton.
- Successful candidates must provide own CSA approved safety footwear prior to first day of employment *Partial reimbursement provided in accordance with the Safety Workwear policy.




- CH parks are not accessible by public transit; candidates should ensure they have reliable transportation.
