Job Summary

Lady of Learning Tutoring is hiring a reliable, experienced and enthusiastic tutor to provide one-on-one, in-home tutoring to students in Grades 1–8.

Our clients are located throughout Mississauga, Oakville and Burlington. This is a mobile tutoring position, so applicants must have their own reliable vehicle and be willing to travel to clients in all three service areas.

Join a dynamic educational team as an In-Home Tutor, dedicated to empowering students from grades 1 through 8 to reach their full academic potential. In this role, you will provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring sessions in the comfort of students’ homes, fostering a positive learning environment that promotes confidence and academic success.

Expected start date: Last week of August or beginning of September 2026

Duties

- Deliver engaging, tailored tutoring sessions in ALL these subjects: math, reading, writing, science, and social studies for students in grades 1-8.
- High school/Bachelor's diploma required
- Current postsecondary students and graduates are welcome to apply
- Previous experience providing one-on-one tutoring
- Solid knowledge of the Ontario curriculum for Grades 1–8
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Clear communication skills and the ability to explain concepts in an age-appropriate manner
- Patient, encouraging and comfortable working with children of different ages and learning abilities
- Responsible, organized and consistently punctual
- Able to prepare appropriate lesson materials and adapt lessons to each individual student
- Comfortable communicating with parents regarding student progress
- Legally entitled to work in Canada

Transportation Requirement

Applicants must:

- Hold a valid driver’s licence
- Have reliable access to their own vehicle
- Be willing and able to travel to clients throughout Mississauga, Oakville and Burlington




- Be comfortable driving to different client locations based on the students they accept

The ability to drive to clients in all three service areas is an essential requirement of this position. Please do not apply unless you can reliably meet this requirement.

Skills

- Proven experience in tutoring or teaching children across elementary and middle school levels.
- Strong communication skills to effectively explain concepts and engage students of varying ages.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods based on individual student needs and learning styles.
- Experience working with children, demonstrating patience, empathy, and enthusiasm for education.
- Classroom experience is preferred, with the ability to manage different learning paces and behaviors constructively.
- Excellent organizational skills to plan lessons, track progress, and coordinate with families efficiently.
- A proactive attitude with a passion for helping students succeed academically.

Pay: $24.00-$30.00 per hour
