Freebird Market is looking for a full-time Sandwich Maker to join our team.

This is a fast-paced, customer-facing position based at our production kitchen in Etobicoke. While preparing fresh sandwiches is the primary focus of the role, you will also work directly with customers throughout the day by assisting with orders, answering questions, supporting our Front of House team, and preparing hot, made-to-order menu items during service.

This position is responsible for maintaining and operating the sandwich station from start to finish, including daily preparation, stocking, service, cleanliness, and ensuring the station is ready for each shift.

We're looking for an energetic, dependable team member who enjoys both food preparation and providing outstanding customer service.

Weekend availability is mandatory. Candidates must be available to work both Saturdays and Sundays. Shifts may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, and holidays.

Responsibilities

- Prepare sandwiches according to company recipes and quality standards.
- Prepare hot, made-to-order menu items during service.
- Set up, stock, and maintain the sandwich station before, during, and after service.
- Prepare all station mise en place, including making sauces, slicing meats, cutting produce, portioning ingredients, and completing other daily prep as required.
- Monitor inventory levels within the sandwich station and work directly with Team Leads to ensure products and ingredients are ordered in a timely manner.
- Assist customers with orders, menu questions, and product inquiries.
- Support the Front of House team during busy service periods.




- Ensure products are presented consistently and meet Freebird Market quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Rotate, label, stock, and properly store ingredients.
- Work collaboratively with both the kitchen and Front of House teams.
- Assist with opening, closing, cleaning, and other duties as required.

Qualifications

- Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen, café, deli, sandwich shop, or restaurant is required.
- Previous experience preparing sandwiches or working with hot, made-to-order food is considered an asset.
- Previous customer service experience is strongly preferred.
- Friendly, professional, and comfortable interacting with customers throughout the day.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Takes pride in maintaining an organized, well-stocked, and service-ready workstation.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.

Schedule

- Full time, permanent
- Open availability is required.
- Must be available to work Saturdays and Sundays.
- Shifts may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, and holidays.

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
