Youth Empowerment Coach

Full-Time – 37.5 hours per week

Provides targeted, high-need support to vulnerable youth by focusing on skill-building, identity exploration, and community engagement. Help youth build a positive self-identity, connect to cultural roots, and foster healthy peer relationships. Key duties: strength-based skill development, goal setting and advocacy, systemic barrier navigation.

The candidate will be required to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications and Experience:

· Minimum of a Post-Secondary Diploma in a relevant human services field

· Registration, licensing and/or certification as required by relevant professional bodies

· Minimum 2 years of direct experience with youth facing multiple risk factors

Knowledge and Skills and Attributes

· Solid understanding of youth development and family dynamics

· Experience in theatre, drama, or programming related to performing arts an asset

· Ability to build trusting,



positive relationships using a strength-based, non-judgmental approach

· Strong understanding of youth mental health, addictions, trauma, homelessness, and the youth justice system

· Competent in assessment and case management

· Skilled in trauma-informed practice, harm reduction, and culturally responsive care

· Ability to serve as a member of an interdisciplinary team

· Excellent verbal and written communication, qualified boundaries, organizational and interpersonal skills

· Ability to be physically active and meet the physical demands of the job - walking distances, engaging in sporting activities, stooping, squatting, and occasionally lifting supplies weighing approximately 20 pounds

Other:

- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
- Current certification in First Aid and Suicide Intervention
- Valid Police Information and Vulnerable Sector Check and Alberta Children’s Services Intervention Check
- Willing to work a flexible schedule, which could include daytime, evening, and Saturday hours

Pay: $24.85-$25.04 per hour
