We are looking for seasoned networking professionals who are looking for like-minded and security focused colleagues to help elevate our customers’ connectivity and security postures from vulnerable to relentless. As a Heighten Cyber Security Engineer, you have the unique opportunity to join our growing team of professionals as a member of our Heighten CORE team. As a member of the CORE, you will be able to work hands-on with leading networking and security tools and complex customer environments, contributing to our innovative approaches to cybersecurity orchestration and service delivery.

We are looking for someone with the ability to jump right in and who can think big and move fast.

Heighten Security is reimagining how businesses connect and are looking to expand our dream team of talented and technology professionals who match our passion and have the drive to succeed. If you see yourself delivering excellence as a Heighten CORE team member, we invite you to review the job description below.

A day in the life as a member of the Heighten CORE

On an ongoing basis, our CORE Team develops and delivers wide-ranging Cybersecurity services, control implementations and connectivity solutions for customers who own some of Canada’s largest and most complex networks. The differences between the Heighten CORE and a traditional SOC/NOC model are many, but for starters, we do not adhere to a tier-based model. CORE is a collective of talented individuals who collaborate based on our strengths to provide an elevated level of security to our clients. The services that you will help to deliver are based on a true analysis of our client’s posture, their prioritized needs, and their current capacity to adopt increasingly sophisticated controls.

We operate with a dynamic and flexible approach and require someone with initiative and proven experience who has strong cybersecurity and networking fundamentals as an analyst and/or solution engineer, and who brings something unique to our team to make us stronger as a whole. You will be working with great people across our organization to deliver work you can be proud of and results that will make a difference.

Your responsibilities may include:

· Analyze network connectivity events, assessing risk and impact and report findings

· Understand and analyze logging data, network monitoring solutions, packet captures, error reporting and information from various product GUIs

· Utilize technology-based tools and methodologies for incident analysis and remediation

· Design and deploy robust WAN connectivity solutions

· Implement appropriate network filtering technologies including IPS, firewalls, WAFs, load balancers, in both traditional on-prem and cloud environments.

· Implement automated incident response technologies in collaboration with security analysts and architects

· Create and update customer profiles, use cases and procedure guidelines

· Document incidents based on alarms and information found during proactive security investigations/monitoring

· Maintain certifications and training in relevant products and vendor partnerships

· Investigate and troubleshoot network connectivity issues

· Develop documentation to support infrastructure deployments and network architectures, ensuring that knowledge is shared amongst the entire CORE team

· Closely adhere to the many overlapping and ever-changing procedures and protocols that come hand-in-hand with providing managed services and implementing WAN and LAN technologies for a variety of clients and the particularities of their environments

(that matter most for this role!)

At Heighten we don’t just look for qualifications on paper, we seek those with a growth mindset, a passion for solving problems, and a commitment to inspired collaboration.

· Proven Expertise: You should have a relevant degree or diploma (Computer Science, Cybersecurity, etc.), preferably relevant certifications in your field (both framework and vendor product based), and significant previous experience in a similar analyst or engineer role.
