CNC Operator / Programmer - Guelph, ON

Our client is looking for a Senior CNC Machine Operator to join their precision machining team in Guelph, ON. The company specializes in high-quality CNC machining services for a variety of industries, including automotive, defense, and manufacturing.

The Senior CNC Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining CNC equipment, ensuring effective production processes, and maintaining strict quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

- Operate CNC machines to perform machining tasks such as turning, milling, drilling, and boring efficiently and accurately.
- Execute changeover setups for recurring parts and ensure cycle times are met before handing off tasks.
- Assist machinists with setting up CNC milling and lathe machines for production.
- Monitor and maintain tooling to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Perform quality checks on machined parts using precision measuring tools and complete required documentation.
- Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance on CNC equipment.




- Submit lean and safety improvement suggestions to enhance workplace efficiency and security.

Qualifications:

- 2+ years of experience in a CNC machining environment.
- CNC programming skills for mills and lathes.
- Strong mathematical skills and proficiency in reading blueprints, drawings, and technical documents.
- Familiarity with SPC (Statistical Process Control) and the ability to analyze data.
- Experience using measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
- Ability to interpret GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) symbols and CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) reports.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- High school diploma or equivalent.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $24.00-$28.00 per hour
