Overland West Freight Lines is a leading Canadian LTL carrier providing dependable freight transportation throughout Western Canada. We are looking for a motivated, safety-focused Deck Loader to join our operations team. Position Summary
The Deck Loader is responsible for safely loading and securing freight onto flatdeck trailers while ensuring all shipments are handled with care and in accordance with company safety standards. This role works closely with dispatch, warehouse staff, and drivers to ensure freight is loaded accurately and ready for on-time departure.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload freight onto flat deck trailers.
- Properly secure freight using chains, straps, binders, tarps, and other securement equipment.
- Inspect freight for damage and verify shipment accuracy.
- Ensure loads are balanced and comply with weight distribution requirements.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely.
- Assist with organizing the loading area and maintaining a clean work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and WorkSafeBC regulations.
- Communicate with supervisors and drivers regarding loading priorities and special handling requirements.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as required.
Qualifications
- Previous warehouse or freight handling experience.
- Experience loading flat deck trailers.
- Forklift certification.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Solid attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team.

Schedule
- Full-time
- Monday to Friday (14:00 to 22:30)
- Overtime available as required
