Responsibilities:

- Welding: Site welders are responsible for performing various welding techniques using predominately SMAW process (Stick)
- installation of structural steel components, such as beams, columns, and trusses, as well as metal stairs, railings, and ornamental ironwork
- Reading Blueprints: Site welders need to interpret and follow blueprints, drawings, and construction plans to ensure accurate fabrication and installation of metal structures
- Cutting and Shaping: Using cutting torches and other tools, they cut and shape metal pieces to the required dimensions for welding and assembly
- Regularly inspecting and maintaining welding equipment and tools for proper functioning and maintaining them in good working condition
- Following safety guidelines and practices on construction sites is crucial. Site welders must use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure safety protocols are followed at all times
- Team communication and collaboration with team lead as well as other tradespeople, contractors, and supervisors to complete projects on time and according to specifications
- Conducting quality checks on completed welds and metalwork to ensure they meet industry standards and project requirements




- Site welders must be familiar with local building codes and safety regulations to ensure compliance during construction projects
- Addressing on-site challenges and finding solutions related to welding, metalwork, and installation
- Site welders work in various weather conditions and may need to handle heavy equipment and materials, so physical fitness and strength are key
- CWB Tickets SMAW All Position/ Fall Protection/ Aerial Lift tickets would be an asset
