West Four Group of Companies Inc is a Western Canadian leader in supplying doors, hardware, and building specialties. Our trade brands are Security Building Supplies, Madero, Penner Doors & Hardware, WSI Industrial and Two Six Creative, with Saskatoon, Regina, Winnipeg, Edmonton and Calgary facilities.

This person will report to both the local Operations Manager and the Director of Sales and work under the Penner Doors and Hardware brand.

Position and Responsibilities

- Defines the scope of the project in collaboration with Project Managers or the Director of Sales.
- Reviews contract/purchase documents to ensure accuracy.
- Reviews architectural drawings and specifications and compares them with estimates, noting any anomalies.
- Creates door & hardware schedules, shop drawings, purchase orders, pick tickets and shipping labels to distribute and monitor as per appropriate office procedures.
- Site visits are made to measure openings, solve problems and liaise with customers.
- Evaluates inventory of stock on hand to recommend purchase order requisitions to fulfill the orders.
- Document projects’ activities by completing forms and records.
- Monitors the progress of the project by consistent communication with the client and the construction schedule. Manages any areas of concern, i.e., shipping timelines, coordination of installation, etc.
- Manages changes within the project.
- Ensures that all financial processes are completed.





Education and Qualifications

- A minimum of two years of work experience with commercial doors & hardware or related items is an asset but not required.
- AHC designation or interest in pursuing DHI training is considered an asset (www.DHICANADA.ca).
- The strong knowledge base of the construction and building materials industry.
- Post-secondary education is preferred: Construction Engineering-related sciences such as an Architectural & Building Technologies Diploma or Architectural & Interior Technologies Diploma.
- Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
- Problem-solving and advanced Excel skills are required. Basic computer skills are imperative.
- A realization that customer service and relationships are a primary focus.
- Organizational skills and self-motivation are important attributes.
- Knowledge of interior designs would be beneficial
- Computer systems knowledge is a huge asset, Sketch up, All Microsoft programs, CRM data bases and scheduling tools.
