Server Job Description:
The server is responsible for the overall dining experience of each guest. They are able to create a
memorable and lasting impression whereby every guest cannot wait to return. Their passion for
guest service is unparalleled.
Role of the Server
 Be enthusiastic, professional and hospitable
 Ensure every guest leaves wanting to return
 Give the guest suggestions/recommendations for food & drinks based on their wants or needs
 Possess a sincere attitude to be of service to others with a desire to succeed
Duties & Responsibilities:
 Knowledge of East Tea Can including all products, menu’s and promotions
 Table service; taking orders, answering menu and beverage inquiries, explaining daily features,
placing orders with kitchen while following all standards as it pertains to each task
 Delivery of food & beverage to tables in the dining room
 Processing bills and taking payment
 Handling guest concerns with and without the support of the management team
 Providing the highest quality of service at all times in all guest interactions
 Clearing, setting, polishing and cleaning tables, glassware & utensils




 Preparation and cleanliness of dining room & service stands before, after & during each service
 Proper adherence to all cash handling procedures as outlined in company policies
 Correct use of POS system, adhering to all company standards and policies
Competencies:
 Collaborative in a team environment, focused on success of the team not individual
 Maintain a sense of urgency and momentum
 Ability to stay calm under pressure
 Works harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and management.
Job Requirements:
 Ability to prioritize and stay organized in a high-paced environment
 Minimum of 1 year related serving experience
 Fluency in English both written and verbal
 Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
 Must be able to carry and lift items weighing 20lbs
 Must be able to stoop and bend
 Must be able to stand and move for extended periods of time to continuously perform essential job
functions.
