Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Coordinator to champion safety initiatives across our 3 locations. In this vital role, you will develop, implement, and oversee safety protocols that foster a secure and compliant work environment. Responsibilities

- Coordinating and communicating with workers in each office to manage, mitigate, and improve safety concerns;
- Monitor and track field safety paperwork;
- Onboard new employees to Safety program
- Site Safety inspections and worker Safety observations when required;
- Incident, Accident, and Near Miss Investigations and any required follow Up;
- Provide on-call safety support to In Situ employees;
- Work with Project Lead Archaeologists and Project Managers in the development of, and/or review of, project and client specific safety requirements and documentation;
- Review and revise safety documentation as required;
- Ensure document control of all safety related forms, templates, records, etc. is maintained and compliant with the Company's document control procedure;
- Coordinate with each office to ensure all relevant inspections are accomplished quarterly;
- Actively participate in all Health + Safety Committee meetings;
- Lead,



or coordinate with a designate to lead, all monthly safety meetings for all office locations;
- Facilitate the annual COR Audit as required

Qualifications

- Required to be based/work out of Sechelt office
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a demonstrated clean driving record;
- Demonstrated familiarity with, and ability to perform, root cause analysis in incident investigations;
- Canadian citizen, or legally eligible to work in Canada for a minimum period of three years as of the date of application;
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety and/or Risk Management; alternatively, an equivalent combination of education and industry experience;
- Construction Safety Officer Certification (CSO/NCSO) [preferred];
- Intermediate First Aid certified (preferred);
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience (with a proven and positive track record) working in the safety industry, accompanied by the knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements. Must be familiar with Worksafe BC regulations;
- Availability to work flexible hours when necessary;
- Willingness and ability to travel to other office locations and project areas when required.

Pay: $30.00-$38.00 per hour
