Located in the Otter Hotel, Good Folk has quickly built a reputation for refined Canadian cuisine, creative cocktails, warm hospitality, and an atmosphere that feels both elevated and welcoming. We're looking for someone who naturally takes ownership, helps teammates succeed, stays calm when things get busy, and understands that great hospitality is about a lot more than managing reservations.

What You'll Do

- Create exceptional first and last impressions for every guest.
- Lead the flow of service by managing reservations, waitlists, seating plans, and guest traffic.
- Support and coach Hosts and front-of-house team members during service.
- Help onboard new team members and reinforce service standards.
- Support managers during busy periods by helping direct service and solve problems before they become issues.
- Build strong working relationships with Servers, Bartenders, Kitchen staff, and leadership.
- Lead by example with professionalism, accountability, and a positive attitude.

The Person We're Looking For

You are someone who:

- Naturally steps in when help is needed.
- Can keep your cool when the restaurant is full and the waitlist is growing.
- Takes pride in creating memorable guest experiences.
- Is confident making decisions and solving problems independently.




- Enjoys coaching newer team members and helping build a strong team culture.
- Understands that details matter—from guest greetings to service flow.
- Wants to grow into future leadership opportunities within hospitality.

Qualifications

- Previous Host or Front-of-House experience in a busy restaurant.
- Strong communication and guest service skills.
- Demonstrated leadership potential and initiative.
- Pro Serve Certification.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
